Local day of "Worth"

In the city of Vasgeketting Olifant the villagers encourage the young ones to acknowledge the self worth since little. They believe that all human beings have the potential needed to be better and improve their lives, as well as the capacity to change what eats people alive and that is called "self doubt"

Every May the 31st they celebrate the "Worth day", where children, teens and adults dress up in colorful striped clothing and celebrate life and the power of change that comes from will and confidence.

Children are allowed to dance and share experiences they have lived, then teens compare their own life experiences to those from the younger ones, and they realize how they have changed and how much they have learnt and grown.

Adults tend to guide the celebration by giving advice or a different perspective, that which comes with age. Adults acknowledge that when older, a more stable and mindset evolves only with age, and then they become amazed by the stories from all ages, and enrich their own mature views.

The day of worth symbolizes growth, a mindful growth that can only be achieved by the exchange of experiences. So, today is a good day to wear stripes, or colorful clothing, let's all celebrate individuality, and self worth.

All human beings are important, and we all have a story to tell and share to others to learn from.

Who knows, maybe your story can help others see what they are missing, not as something lost, but as something that is escaping our sight.

You are worth it, beautiful, and can handle unimaginable things.

Day two of ephemeris

Local day of “fight for your beer”

Locals say that two youngsters met at work a long time ago.

Their names were Humberto and Rodrigo.

They became really good and close friends throughout the years, keeping always in mind that theirs was a working relationship.

At work they had one hour break, 30 minutes for lunch and 30 to rest the food.

There was a long dining table for employees and a huge fridge with all sorts of free food and drinks, except for alcohol.

One day, during the break, the lunch area was mildly empty, and someone asked “is that what I think it is?”

People paraded to see that there was a bottle of beer in the fridge, without a tag, without anything. And it shone, and it was beautiful.

They knew it belonged to someone, and they all wanted to have a sip.

That particular day was extremely hot, whispers of who’s the owner trespassed the concrete walls.

Humberto arrived and drank half the bottle… everyone stared at him.

Then he had lunch and once he finished, he walked towards the resting area.

While he was walking to the resting area a scream echoed in the food court… “who drank half my beer” a strong, irritated voice asked.

Humberto knew that voice and felt how a sudden blood rush hit the tip of his head.

He slowly turned and saw Rodrigo standing right there, too close to him, with a distorted face, Humberto didn’t know if it was because of the hot weather, because he was upset, or because he had to run to catch up with him… or the three of them.

People are reserved about this matter, they call it “fight for your beer day” and what people usually do is otherwise, they bring their own stuff to work and respect others foods and drinks by sitting next to each other those with similar stuff.

People say that Humberto suffered a tremendous disapproval from his peers. He was singled out before his peers because of that matter and was always seen sitting and eating by himself.

That’s why, during the “fight for your beer day”, people celebrate a type of kinship, but most importantly respect.

Local day of “clean your house”

Dario was the name of a young man who lived in the outskirts of the town of Joplin.

He was in love with this lady from Guadalajara, and she was in love with him, but she hadn’t realised yet.

One day, by curiosity she kissed a cat who turned into a lovely bearded guy… she felt awful, so rapidly went out and about to look for Dario, she wanted to tell him everything about it, but when she saw him, she didn’t dare so she kept it to herself .

Dario started to suspect the matter, he felt weird and he noticed that she was acting awkwardly, he confronted her, and she wasn’t able to deny it.

Instead she apologized and confessed that she had made a terrible mistake, and that they should clean their house, in order to start anew.

So they did.

It is said that, whenever you have issues with your love partner, you shouldn’t break up, but own it and instead of throwing all away, try to mend things at home.

Thus May the 29th celebrates those who fight for the relationships and mend and clean their houses before trying to take the easy way out.
